MDS packaging magic puts natural gourmet dessert
in top 100

With new MDS branding and package design NadaMoo! is ahead of the herd


The originator of a fresh, new, dairy-free, strictly natural and impressively scrumptious gourmet frozen dessert had landed a plum opportunity to be on the shelves when Whole Foods Market, the celebrated natural foods grocer, opened their spectacular flagship store in Austin. The single catch to this potential Cinderella story was that the product line needed total Brand I.D., packaging and point of purchase collateral in less than three weeks if the company hoped to get on the shelves by the time Whole Foods opened the doors to its new showplace.

Austin, TX—Like Cinderella, the natural dessert had it all, but needed serious repackaging before it could go to the big event. The organic, dairy free frozen treat had been picked to debut at the opening of Whole Foods new world headquarters store in Austin—a gala happening that would draw thousands during opening festivities. There would be lots of sampling and terrific opportunities for a new product to be discovered. But to get noticed the product would need magic—powerful branding and dynamic packaging that would lift it from obscurity into the limelight and shopper’s carts. For the fairy godmother effect, the client turned to MDS Advertising.

The agency moved rapidly through the design/branding phase and scored a creative sublimity when it developed the brand name NadaMoo! It then claimed the dessert’s pure, dairy free roots with the new tagline “When Having a Cow is out of the Question”, and developed witty, free-spirited graphic packaging design that positioned the product as hip and edgy. In record time the agency produced NadaMoo!’s packaging and point of purchase collateral making it possible for their client to be center stage for the gala opening.

It was all worth it, too. Wrapped in its chic new look and ultra stylish branding, NadaMoo! nabbed a spot on Whole Foods top hundred BEST sellers in their first month in the new store, winning this honor over literally tens of thousands of other premium natural food products with much larger advertising budgets.

NadaMoo! anticipates Whole Foods will soon place the product in more of its top stores. And they all lived happily after—eating NadaMoo! for dessert, of course.
